| As Assistant Professor of Classical Greek and Latin Literature at the department of Greek and Latin Language and Culture, you will teach courses in Greek and Latin literature at all levels. You will also contribute to the development and teaching of these courses. Furthermore, you will be required to contribute to the study programme in Literary and Cultural Studies. In the field of research, you will be an active member of The Ancient World research group, a collaboration of classical philologists, historians and archaeologists, and participant in the interfaculty research theme ‘Europe’. Your research will relate to both Greek and Latin literature. You will be expected to acquire externally funded research assignments and write project proposals. You will participate in committees and project groups at the departmental and/or faculty level. | ||
| Anforderungen für BewerberInnen | ||
| - you should hold a doctoral degree in Greek or Latin literature; - you are committed to teaching and have university teaching experience at various levels; you are willing to contribute to the development of the study programme in Greek and Latin Language and Culture; - you have obtained the University Teaching Qualification (BKO) or an equivalent qualification, or are prepared to take courses in order to obtain this qualification within the term of appointment; - you should have experience in supervising students writing their BA and MA theses; - you have built up an international network of academic contacts and have a strong research ambition as evidenced by publications and initiatives; - you should have the following competencies: conceptual ability, situational awareness, presentation, result orientation and initiative. |
