In fact, not all new jobs advertised are permanent or even only long term. While in the UK, somewhat over half of all new jobs advertised are for appointments for an indefinite period, only slightly more than a third of all jobs advertised in German language archaeology are not for fixed terms (fig. 4). And while in the UK and Germany, c. 90% of all jobs are advertised as full-time posts, in Austria, almost 25% of all advertised jobs are part-time (fig. 5).
